Inspired by my Persian heritage, Mobarak Champagne was designed to celebrate the Persian New Year. Nowruz, that comes at the beginning of every Spring. My objective was to convey the rich traditions with this holiday in an elegant and sophisticated design. As a culture that has lasted many years, the best homage to the traditions of Iran comes from Iran’s long standing and astonishing architecture. Surrounding the architecture, I weaved in illustrations of the traditions associated just with the New Year too, of the Haft Sin: a display of 7 symbolic items, each representing a good fortune for the new year.
Throughout my experimentation with composition, I found myself drawn to the columns and vaulted ceilings from Persian mosques and palaces that give a sense of scale and grandeur. Additionally, I wanted to merge in the overall sense of growth and rebirth that is associated with the Springtime holiday, the true essence of what the Persian Nowruz means. Altogether, the champagne bottle brings tradition and elegance together for the perfect toast for the New Year.
